Perspectives on a Fulfilled Life – April 16th, 2007

On the Verge

There’s something fascinating happening in the world – I’ll give you my spin.

Everyone I know is on the verge of his or her next thing – a business – a cause
– a lifestyle change or a major event. Of course this says a lot about who I’m hanging out with – still… We’re all verging…. My new Ezine is called New Futures.

Me? I’m very excited – only a week away from launching my new website. It’s
a total departure from what I’ve done in the past…I didn’t do it myself – To save money and end up with my old website. When you visit my new site and sign up for the new Ezine (called “New Futures”) even though you already get email from me, you’ll be asked to agree to receive it. And if you don’t agree, you won’t receive it – you can always resubscribe.

My blog is always accessible.

I also ask that you give me feedback on the site – what you like best and what you like least.. Still, that’s only about my being on the verge.. My youngest daughter Ariel is getting married in August, and my next youngest daughter Aliya is having a baby in October. So much for my family –Let’s look at the verging world – We’re in an extraordinary race to the future. On one side is the ongoing damage we’re doing to spiritual fulfillment, social ustice and environmental sustainability.

We know t
here is a growing file of pictures and videos that showthis verging future. For all of us. And, for a very different future, one we can create, read www.solartopia.com

Still – I’ll never know who won, looking at Earth’s long life. And that has nothing to do with the way I live my life.

But this verging is happening everywhere. We’re poised on the elections of
2008 and wondering what they will bring. And while some are wondering what’s next for Paris Hilton, I’m waiting for the follow on to The Secret, Down the Rabbit Hole and Bill Maher.

The Creative Corner

The Convergence

Here comes the throng,
dodging raindrops,
sidestepping geese who own the walkways
and leave their droppings as reminders –

They come in ones and twos,
in people clusters, walking forward,
with heads turned back
embracing those who follow,
thickening as they reach the doorway,
coagulating for a moment
and then thinning out,
the last few hurrying,
often running for a step or two
This, then, is their entrance to the future,
an uninviting doorway
in an everyday industrial park,
with building after corporate building
squatting in an architectural wasteland.

In this fluorescent doorway lies the future. We are verging on that quality,
a magnet for fulfillment, for joy,
for unlimited possibility –
The iron filings converge in patterns of aliveness,
stepping past the goose do,
weaving through the rain.
Tomorrow is occurring
at a seemingly random door.
