The Truth

The future is never new until it has a somewhat unfamiliar feel to it.  But what’s the way to do it?  How can you validly change course or set a fresh course? Great athletes go into training.  But what muscle can you train to create new futures?  I suggest we have a significant muscle to strengthen – start with telling the truth about where you are.  No one is giving you marks.  Nobody is judging and evaluating.  There is nothing wrong.  The truth part is all happening in your mind or where you write it down.  And there are lots of ways that you can organize the writing down.   Different contexts can give rise to different flavors of the truth. Okay, let’s say you’ve told the truth.  Now what?  Well, Mr. Scrooge didn’t have to do anything.  The truth was enough to allow a new future to come about.  Can we have the same great fortune?  I don’t know.  I do know that telling the truth will let you know how you can get the debris off the road. So we begin – Please – explore the site.  What I’ll be doing is putting this on its own page. It will be interesting – different and familiar.I’ll be writing New Futures less frequently – The Blog will still be weekly because I’ll also be writing an Ezine from MichaelsReadingRoom.com, which is still coming together.

The Anchor

We sail our ships in novel ways.
Whenever something new occurs,
we drop an anchor
to get our ship aright
and then we sail along
some more
Until the anchors left behind
Begin to slow us down
And we move more
slow ly
to
our
few chure.
The chainsaw of the truth
can free us for sailing.
